Cypress and Bosch Automotive further expand their long-term partnership

     Cypress Semiconductor Corporation announced that Bosch has selected Cypress's automotive-grade serial NOR flash memory for its next-generation video-based Advanced Driver assistance system (ADAS). Cypress's quad-serial NOR flash family delivers the highest performance, scalability, security and confidentiality for modern ADAS platforms that enable autonomous driving capabilities and fully autonomous vehicle capabilities. NOR flash memory is used to store system startup codes and algorithms with extremely high operational reliability at temperatures up to 125°C.

     The ADAS platform is the foundation for autonomous driving. Vision-based systems are key to providing important driving functions such as pedestrian detection, lane keeping, traffic sign recognition, collision avoidance and blind spot monitoring. Bosch's camera-based ADAS platform allows automakers to integrate different categories of driver assistance functions into their vehicles through a single system.

     Cypress's 128Mb-1Gb FS-S 1.8V series and FL-S 3.0V Series Quad SPI NOR flash provides 80 MBps read bandwidth, providing the fastest program execution speeds for high-performance systems. These flash drives are available in industry-standard compact 8-lead SOIC, 16-lead SOIC, 8-WSON, and 24-ball BGA packages that save board space and simplify layout. The FS-S and FL-S NOR flash families offer AEC-Q100 automotive certified products and support an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
