Diodes introduces 10Gbps autospecific-compliant crossover switch to simplify in-car USB-C connectivity

      Diodes introduces the 10Gbps automotive compliant Crossbar Switch to bring more convenience and performance to advanced in-car connectivity. Diodes' new PI3USB31532Q switch design enables USB 3.2 to DisplayPort 2.1 signal routing via USB Type-C connector to ensure high signal integrity, More power efficient than traditional cross multiplexers and ReDriver signal modulators. The crossover switch is suitable for the rear entertainment system and the smart cabin with a large high-resolution display.

     The PI3USB31532Q supports three USB Type-C compliant configuration modes, providing designers with a variety of options. It can connect USB 3.2 Gen 2 single channel and USB Type-C connector; Connect USB 3.2 Gen 2 single channel and DP 2.1 UHBR10 dual channel; Or connect DP 2.1 UHBR10 quad channel. For DisplayPort configuration, the PI3USB31532Q also connects complementary AUX channels with USB Type-C Sideband pins: SBU1 and SBU2. The device's configuration mode is controlled by I2C or on-chip logic using four external pins.

     The PI3USB31532Q comes in a 40-pin W-QFN3060-40 package with an area of only 3mm x 6mm, allowing for design flexibility and high performance with space savings. With a bandwidth of -3dB at 8.3GHz and insertion loss, return loss and crosstab as low as -1.7dB, -15dB and -38dB respectively at 10Gbps, these features ensure a high degree of signal integrity.

     The new crossswitch meets automotive specifications - complies with AEC-Q100 Level 2, can be used at -40°C to +105°C, is manufactured in an IATF 16949 certified facility and supports PPAP. PI3USB31532Q Supply quantity is 3,500 units.
