Littelfuse introduces miniature TMR sensors with increased sensitivity and energy efficiency
Littelfuse is an industrial technology manufacturing company dedicated to powering a sustainable, connected and safer world. The company announced the highly anticipated 54100 and 54140 micro tunnel Magnetoresistive (TMR) effect sensors. Both sensors offer unmatched sensitivity and energy efficiency, revolutionizing the magnetic induction industry.
The main difference between the 54100/54140 sensor and the Hall effect sensor is its superior sensitivity and 100 times power efficiency. These sensors can be activated in the x-y plane instead of the traditional Z-axis, providing enhanced functionality. In addition, its operating temperature range is wider (-40 to +100 degrees Celsius), exceeding other solutions on the market.
With a housing size of 25.5 x 11.00 x 3.00 mm, the 54100 flange-mounted sensor is ideal for a wide range of applications. Its versatile housing design can be mounted with either screws or adhesives, ensuring easy installation. With a 3-wire configuration (power-ground-output) and digital output, the sensor can switch output currents up to 5.5 Vdc and 3.0 mA, providing reliable, accurate results. Sensor leads are designed for flexibility, with standard lead lengths of 300 mm and 1000 mm, and custom options for high volume production.
The other 54140 flat-pack sensor is a compact 23.00 x 14.00 x 5.90mm sensor with equally excellent performance. Like the 54100, this sensor also offers a digital output and can be used as a three-wire sensor configuration, with the same performance characteristics and customization features.
The 54100 and 54140 sensors are ideal for a wide range of market applications in appliances, home and building automation, as well as the industrial sector.
These all-pole TMR sensors are ideal for a variety of functional applications, including:
