TLVR inductors provide extremely high current capability
Bourns has launched its model TLVR1005T and TLVR1105T series. The series is available now and is rohs compliant and halogen-free. Bourns' new multiphase TLVR inductors feature extremely high current capability, low inductance and low DCR, designed to meet the performance requirements of today's data-driven applications.
These types of applications have evolved in terms of processing performance and now require support from power head inductors that can match their extremely high current specifications in the same, if not smaller, board space. Inductors address these needs for servers, workstations, data centers, storage systems, and desktop computers, as well as for graphics cards and various battery-powered systems.
Traditional multiphase vr presents a problem in terms of balancing performance, as high current outputs require an increase in duty cycle that was previously processed through long single-phase processes. New multiphase TLVR architectures were developed to mitigate transient responses caused by sudden increases in load output and are widely adopted to address these issues. As a result, system designers see the advantages of phase coupling in TLVR architectures, enabling extremely fast transient responses that can scale according to CPU, FPGA, and ASIC load requirements. With this architecture, designers can develop robust systems without sacrificing other key design parameters such as board space, system efficiency, power density, or BOM costs.
With a double-winding construction and clip-on coil, the series has the low inductance and extremely high current capabilities (up to 77A Irms and 160A Isat) required for a new generation of multiphase power solutions. The shielding structure of this series provides low radiation with an inductance range of 70nH to 200nH and an operating temperature range of -40 ° C to +125 ° C.
