Texas Instruments introduces USB 2.0 compliant electrical isolation repeater

Texas Instruments ISOUSB111 Isolated USB Repeater is a USB 2.0 compliant electrical isolation repeater that supports both full speed (12Mbps) and low speed (1.5Mbps) signal transfer rates. The device supports automatic speed detection and connection, pull-up/pull-down reflection, plug-in USB hubs, link power management, peripherals, host and cable isolation. The device supports automatic role exchange. If a new connection is detected on the uplink port after disconnection, the uplink and downlink port definitions are reversed.

This feature enables the device to support Type-C dual-role port (DRP) and USB On-The-Go (OTG) implementations. The device uses a silicon dioxide (SiO2) insulated grid to withstand voltages up to 5,000 VRMS. It also has 1500VRMS operating voltage. Used in conjunction with an isolated power supply, the device provides high voltage protection and prevents bus noise current from entering the local ground.

Texas Instruments ISOUSB111 devices are available for basic and enhanced isolation. It supports a wide ambient temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. The device is available in a standard SOIC-16 (16-DW) package and a smaller SOP-16 (16-DWX) package.
