The MolexMizu-P25 miniature wire-to-wire connector becomes the smallest IP67 class product

     Molex announced that its Mizu-P25 wireline connector system is the industry's smallest sealing system with an IP67 compliant 2.50 mm (0.098 in) pitch connector that maintains its integrity when submerged in water up to one meter deep.

     Nagisa Kojima, Product Manager at Molex, said: "As shipbuilders strive to differentiate their products, on-board electronics in the Marine industry are becoming increasingly sophisticated and diverse. In addition to providing navigation and communication tools, more and more boats are now offering value-added products such as security systems and personal entertainment systems. "The Mizu-P25 is ideal for these types of high-performance offshore applications, allowing system designers to pack more sophisticated electronics into smaller Spaces while adopting an innovative design that makes the connector uniquely suited for harsh Marine environments."

     The Mizu-P25 connector has the smallest pairing diameter in similar systems, helping shipbuilders implement wire-to-wire solutions in tight Spaces. The product family includes low-voltage systems rated at 125 volts and high-voltage systems rated at 250 volts. Both systems have an integral seal function to provide waterproof protection and are equipped with a cover lock to reduce terminal insertion forces and improve sealing performance, which are critical for Marine applications.

     The latching function ensures strong pairing retention, the raised body design prevents misinsertion and mismatches, and the color-coded housing helps simplify the assembly process. In addition, the connector can withstand high vibration environments thanks to an innovative elastic beam terminal design that provides extremely high pressure with minimal deflection.
