The new SMARC module sets a new benchmark for secure edge AI applications
Congatet has announced a new high-performance COMs with NXP i.MX 95 processors, expanding its broad portfolio of modules with low-power NXP i.MX Arm processors. In doing so, it underscores its strong partnership with NXP. Customers benefit from direct scalability and reliable upgrade paths for existing and new energy-efficient edge AI applications with high security requirements.
In these applications, the new module offers an advantage of up to three times GFLOPS computing performance compared to the previous generation i.MX8 M Plus processors. NXP's new neural processing unit "eIQ Neutron" doubles the reasoning performance of AI-accelerated machine vision. In addition, the hardware integrated EdgeLock security enclave simplifies the implementation of internal network security measures.
Suitable for the industrial temperature range from -40 ° C to +85 ° C, the new SMARC modules are mechanically robust and optimized for cost and energy saving applications. The integrated high-performance eIQ Neutron NPU allows AI to accelerate workloads closer to the on-premises device level. Specific applications for the new SMARC modules can be found in AI-accelerated low-power applications in industrial production, machine vision and vision inspection, rugged Hmis, 3D printers, robotic controllers in AMRs and AGVs, and medical imaging and patient monitoring systems. Other targeted applications include passenger seat-back entertainment for buses and aircraft, as well as transportation fleet management, construction and agricultural applications.
The company also offers an extensive hardware and software ecosystem and a comprehensive service design to simplify and accelerate application development. These include evaluated and production-ready carrier plates for applications, as well as customized cooling solutions. On the service side, Congatet provides comprehensive documentation, training and signal integrity measurement for application development.
