Vishay introduces new high-precision Power Metal Strip galvanometer resistors
Vishay has announced the launch of its new surface-mount Power Metal Strip galvanometer resistor, the WSK1206. The resistance is connected with four Kelvin terminals, reducing the TCR to 35ppm and achieving a strict tolerance of 0.1%, thereby improving measurement accuracy. The Vishay Dale WSK1206 features tight tolerances and low TCR, as well as an extremely low resistance value of 0.01Ω, with an external dimension of 1206.
By using a four-terminal construction, the resistor introduced today reduces system error and eliminates the need to calibrate the system. The WSK1206's advanced construction consists of a low TCR(< 20ppm/℃) of solid Metal nickel chromium or manganese copper resistance core, in the 1206 package size to achieve pulsed resistance with tight tolerances, and maintain the excellent electrical characteristics of the Power Metal Strip structure. The device's low resistance minimizes additional power dissipation, tight tolerances and low TCR reduce measurement errors, improve measurement accuracy, or eliminate the need for in-process or on-site calibration, which can reduce costs or improve the performance of the final product.
The WSK1206 is ideal for various types of galvanometer, partial voltage and pulse applications in mobile phone power management. DC/DC converters for servers, voltage regulation modules for laptops, safety and management of lithium-ion batteries; Industrial instrumentation; Automotive electronic controls such as engine, transmission, anti-lock brakes, audio and climate control.
Like all Power Metal Strip resistors, this resistor has an all-welded construction, which achieves very good electrical performance. The unique machining process enables very low resistance values of 0.01Ω ~ 0.05Ω and tight tolerances of 0.1%, 0.5% and 1.0%. The WSK1206 has a low thermal electromotive force (< 3μV/ C), the temperature range from -65 ° C to +170 ° C. Devices are lead-free and comply with RoHS and Vishay green standards.
