Vishay introduces the TSMP6000 and TSMP77000 infrared receivers

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the introduction of two infrared receivers specifically developed for general purpose 3D television glasses, the TSMP6000 and TSMP77000, expanding its optoelectronics portfolio.

     Most LCD 3D TVS sold on the market today use shutter glasses that separate the images from the left and right eyes. Despite many efforts to standardize the technology used to synchronize 3D TVS with the corresponding active shutter glasses, the industry is still quite far from this goal, and various manufacturers have proposed a large number of incompatible infrared and RF protocols. The lack of standards has spawned a market for "universal 3D TV glasses" that work with any 3D TV that uses active glasses technology. The new TSMP6000 and TSMP77000 are surface mount infrared receivers that can pick up any infrared signal used for 3D TV synchronization, simplifying the design of universal 3D TV glasses.

     The TSMP6000 and TSMP77000 integrate photodiodes, amplifiers, and signal conditioning ics into a single-chip, small-size package that helps reduce the weight of 3D glasses while maximizing battery life with the receiver's ultra-low operating current. The TSMP6000 and TSMP77000 are surface mount devices that can be mounted in either top or side view mode. The viewing Angle of the receiver is ±50°, and the signal will not be lost even if the head moves widely. The device has high sensitivity to 800nm ~ 950nm infrared, and can receive signals with a carrier frequency of 20kHz ~ 60kHz. The TSMP77000 measures 2.3mm x 3.0mm x 6.8mm and has two lenses, while the TSMP6000 measures 4.0mm x 5.3mm x 7.5mm and has a single lens.
