Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announces the launch of a high-performance power analyzer

     Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announced the launch of the WT1800R series of high-performance power analyzers to improve the efficiency of complex power measurements in new energy applications. The series combines high and low current input elements, supported by a current sensor power supply, to verify efficiency and power consumption for a variety of applications.

     The WT1800R performs simultaneous 16-bit measurements of up to six input channels at 2MS/s, providing a wide range of display and analysis capabilities via enhanced display and PC connectivity for a wide range of power efficiency and harmonic analysis requirements. Since 2011, the WT1800 series has been the choice for power and efficiency measurement, with excellent performance and long-term stability. Using the latest power analyzers, engineers can continue to make reliable measurements, combine these with results from other measuring instruments, and make field directional control measurements of motors and drives.

     Designed to support the development and production of new and efficient energy technologies, the analyzer combines measurement results with waveform capture instruments through the IS8000 software. In addition, this enables engineers to perform field-oriented control measurements, such as Vd/Vq and Id/Iq, and store measurement data directly to network drives.

     Whether analyzing multiphase inputs during motor and drive design or meeting the stringent efficiency standards of photovoltaic inverters, the device offers versatility to help engineers successfully bring their product concepts to market with an easy-to-read color scheme. The device is the only one of its kind that ensures a power accuracy of 0.05% reading plus 0.05% range, and is capable of harmonic analysis up to 500 orders of 50/60Hz fundamental frequency.

     The stability of the device ensures that accurate measurements can be made today and in the long term. The basic power (AC measurement) accuracy of the series is guaranteed to be between 1% and 110% of the selected voltage and current range, i.e. voltage from 15mV to 1100Vrms, current from 0.1mA to 5.5Arms (5A input element) and 10mA to 55Arms (50A input element). The device is also accurate at large phase shifts and high frequencies, with a power factor error of ±0.07% of apparent power.
