16-bit DAC with broadband channel

     Analog Devices AD9177 16-bit DAC with wideband channel provides flexible reconfigurable universal platform design. The AD9177 is a highly integrated device with four 16-bit, 12-Gsps maximum sampling rate and RF digital-to-analog converter (DAC) cores supporting up to eight baseband channels.

     The device contains an 8-lane, 24.75Gbps JESD204C or 15.5Gbps JESD204B data receiver (JRx) port, on-chip clock multiplier and digital signal processing (DSP) data path. These data paths can be bypassed to allow a direct connection between the data receiver port and the DAC core. DSP data path is capable of processing wideband or multiband complex signals directly used in RF applications, phased array radar systems and electronic warfare applications.

     In direct digital synthesis (DDS) applications, the AD9177 DAC can produce multiple sinusoidal tones of different frequencies without a data receiving port. Auxiliary features include low delay loopback mode, fast frequency hopping, power amplifier downstream protection circuit, on-chip temperature monitoring unit, and flexible GPIO pins.

     Typical applications include wireless communication infrastructure, microwave point-to-point, E-band, 5G millimeter wave, DOCSIS 3.1 and 4.0 CMTS, broadband communication systems, phased array radar, and electronic warfare.
