Artesyn Embedded Technologies has introduced a new line of 25W high-density DC/DC power converters for industrial products and hardened electronics

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies announced the launch of the new AXA 25W Series of rugged, high-density 25W DC/DC power converters, enabling Oems to develop a wide range of low-power electronic products and devices with this series of cost-effective power system solutions. These include production automation systems, measuring instruments, test and measurement equipment, and telecommunications products.

     The AXA 25W series power converters are housed in a small, fully filled metal housing on top of an isolated substrate and measure only 1.0 x 1.0 x 0.4 inches (25.4 x 25.4 x 10.16mm), the industry standard package. With an efficiency of up to 90%, this series of power converters is suitable for an extremely wide input voltage range of 4:1, and can support rated input voltages of 24V or 48V (9V-36V DC and 18V-75V DC), and is available in single and dual output versions. This series of power converters has been rigorously tested to prove its design suitable for ruggedized products, and all are fully pot-sealed metal packaging, so it is suitable for extremely harsh operating environments.

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies' AXA 25W series power converters are available in four single-output models offering 3.3V, 5V, 12V and 15V output voltages, as well as two dual-output models. The output voltage is +12V/-12V and +15V/-15V respectively. This series of DC/DC power modules can operate in a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.

     The AXA 25W series power converters also have overload protection, remote on/off control, 1500V(DC) input/output voltage isolation and other functions. All single-output models are equipped with the ability to fine-tune the output margin to ensure that the output does not exceed +/-10% of its rating. All models of this range meet the specifications set out in the CSA/NTRL/IEC/EN 60950-1 technical standard for information technology equipment.
