Cypress introduces new PSoC and flexible MCU series evaluation suite to accelerate CAN and LIN network protocol application design

     Cypress Semiconductor Inc. has introduced a new suite to help designers evaluate the performance of CAN(Controller Local Area Network) and LIN(Local Internet) Slave communications for the Cypress PSoC programmable system-on-chip and flexible microcontroller (MCU) families. The new CY8CKOIT-026 CAN and LIN expansion kit includes two CAN wireless transceivers for high-precision and high-speed transmission, two LIN wireless transceivers, and Arduino-compatible pins. In addition, the kit includes five example projects that demonstrate the CAN and LIN performance of PSoC 4. At present, CAN and LIN protocols have been widely adopted in automotive and some industrial applications.

     With the Cy8CKOIT-026 CAN and LIN extension suite, designers CAN quickly create their own projects by using the easy-to-use CAN and LIN subassemblies in Cypress's PSoC Creator™ Integrated development environment (IDE), or by modifying the sample code that comes with the suite. The integrated development environment can realize the parallel design of hardware and firmware, thus simplifying system design and speeding up the time to market. PSoC Creator must be used with PSoC components. PSoC components are free embedded ics represented by ICONS in the integrated development environment that enable rapid prototyping of the final application while minimizing common PCB modifications and firmware changes.
