Diodes Corporation introduces bidirectional MOSFETs

     Diodes introduces bidirectional MOSFET DMN2023UCB4 to provide superior single-cell and dual-cell lithium battery charging protection. The DMN2023UCB4's low on-resistance reduces power consumption, and the thin chip-scale package allows designers to use the space saved to increase battery capacity. The target end markets for the new products include smartphones, tablets, cameras, portable media players, and similar consumer products that are critical to their size, weight and battery life.

     The DMN2023UCB4 has an RSS(on) of less than 26 Mω and is designed to reduce power consumption with the lowest on-resistance. In addition, its double N-channel co-drain configuration is particularly suitable for charging circuits that generally use low-side battery switches, so as to meet the requirements of single-cell and dual-cell lithium batteries. For applications requiring high-end connectivity, Diodes has also introduced the DMP2100UCB9, which offers a dual-P-channel common source MOSFET design.

     These features, combined with a chat-scale package with a footprint of just 1.8mm x 1.8mm and a thickness of less than 0.4mm, make this next-generation bidirectional MOSFET ideal for battery management, load switching and battery protection applications that focus on small form factors. Other features include gate threshold voltages of less than 1V, helping to improve overall channel performance at low voltages, and gate protection against electrostatic discharge voltages exceeding 2kV.
