Emerson has launched its new Energy Manager solution

     Emerson has introduced its new Energy management solution, a pre-designed hardware and software designed to simplify industrial power monitoring with quick setup and intuitive operation. The solution monitors asset energy usage in real time, enabling manufacturers to gain greater insight into energy consumption and operating costs, reduce CO2 emissions and maximize energy and operational efficiency.

     Most manufacturers, including original equipment manufacturers, consumer packaged goods companies, and food and beverage producers, are under pressure to improve productivity while reducing energy use and environmental impact. However, industrial machinery is energy intensive and consumes a lot of electricity even when idle. To better achieve efficiency and sustainability goals, operators need to know as much as possible about the energy use of their facilities to address waste and inefficiency.

     This new solution provides real-time energy measurement, enabling plant managers to quickly view detailed values and see opportunities for savings, such as idle consumption and peak load. The software's easy-to-use dashboard provides asset-specific energy use, associated costs, and CO2 emissions for up to 10 endpoints (scalable to 50 licenses). For broader media and utility monitoring, the solution can be used in conjunction with Emerson Compressed Air Managers to provide a streamlined view of energy costs and compressed air usage for machines on production lines, plants and in the field.

     This level of visibility provides organizations with better control to identify idle machines and optimize machine scheduling during off-peak hours, reducing power consumption across the plant and overall utility costs. Most facilities can reduce energy waste by 10-30% and carbon emissions by 15-30%.

     The solution is highly scalable and easy to integrate with new or existing energy meters, enabling direct commissioning and a quick return on investment. The software can be pre-installed on edge hardware, such as the PACSystemsTM RXi2-BP Industrial PC, or as a standalone application that can be installed in a virtual environment.
