Littelfuse Schottky barrier rectifiers combine ultra-low forward voltage drop and high current handling capability with a compact construction
Littelfuse, the global leader in circuit protection, announced the Schottky Barrier rectifier family. The product family performs better than traditional switching diodes in commercial, industrial and automotive applications. The DST series Schottky barrier rectifiers combine ultra-low forward voltage drop, high current handling capability, high junction temperature capability and low leakage performance in the compact TO-277B surface-mount package. For automotive applications up to 10A, it offers the same or superior performance as D-PAK packaged Schottky barrier rectifiers at 1/3 the size.
Typical applications for DST series Schottky barrier rectifiers include high frequency switching power supplies (SMPS) and DC-DC converters for automotive applications such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)(such as cameras, sensors, and electronic control units), infotainment systems (GPS, audio, etc.), LCD displays, and LED headlights and taillights. Other applications include polarity protection diodes and reverse blocking diodes.
"The DST series Schottky Barrier rectifiers include units that are AEC-Q certified and manufactured according to TS/ISO16949 Automotive Quality Management system standards." "This means that circuit designers in the automotive industry can safely use these components in the next generation of products," said Zhiwei Wang, product manager at Littelfuse.
The DST series Schottky barrier rectifiers have the following main advantages:
● Ultra-low forward voltage drop (VF) reduces thermal and electrical conduction losses, thereby increasing system efficiency.
● Provides high-speed switching capability for UHF applications to minimize switching losses.
● High junction temperature capability ensures high reliability in high-temperature environments and applications with only basic cooling conditions
