Littelfuse introduces the first discrete thyristor capable of withstanding voltage peaks above 1,200V
Littelfuse Corporation, a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the launch of its first discrete thyristor device capable of withstanding voltage peaks above 1,200V. Littelfuse Teccor brand SK225xD SK255KD/SK625xD/SK655KD series thyristor SCR switch mode is specially used to process the input voltage of ac power peak and unidirectional switch power surge.
These SCR rectifiers can withstand voltages up to 1,300V(SK225xD and SK255KD series) or 1,700V(SK625xD and SK655KD series) without failure. Suitable for switching 50/60Hz AC power up to 440Vrms. These high-voltage SCR rectifiers have high repeat and non-repeat peak off-state voltage ratings (VDRM/VDSM), ensuring reliable operation even in the face of the high voltage surges common in commercial AC main power supplies in some sectors.
SK225xD SK255KD/SK625xD/SK655KD series thyristor SCR switch mode of typical applications include ac solid-state switch, industrial power tools and linear rectifier (50/60 hz). "These high-voltage SCR rectifiers are best suited as one-way switches for AC mains up to 240Vrms that require frequent voltage surges or supply voltage fluctuations, or for stable voltage AC mains up to 440Vrms." Daisy Wang, global product Marketing Manager for SCR switched thyristors, said. "These devices are particularly suitable for use in areas where the mains voltage of the AC supply is unstable; Even 240Vrms or lower lines may experience voltage spikes of 1,000V or higher, so a thyristor of 1,200V or 1,600V may be required."
SK225xD SK255KD/SK625xD/SK655KD series thyristor SCR switch mode has the following key advantages:
● High off-state repeat peak voltage (VDRM) of 1,200V or 1,600V ensures reliable operation of AC supply voltages of 440Vrms(SK225xD and SK255KD series) or 600Vrms(SK625xD and SK655KD series).
● Non-repetitive off-state peak voltage (VDSM) of up to 1,300 or 1,700V means that these devices can withstand the voltage surges commonly found in commercial AC mains.
● Durable internal ceramic insulation design (RD, LD and KD packages) provides high electrical insulation voltages for safe operation.
