Littelfuse Corporation, a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the launch of two SIDACtor protected thyristor families designed to protect SLIC(Subscriber Line Interface Circuit) interfaces from lightning induced surges and power failures. The surface mount B61089QDR and B9110DF series thyristors for programmable tracking protection contain a fast switching skid structure that meets the basic level requirements of the ITU recommendations ITU K.20, K.21 and K.45.

Littelfuse Corporation, a global leader in circuit protection, today announced the launch of two SIDACtor protected thyristor families designed to protect SLIC(Subscriber Line Interface Circuit) interfaces from lightning induced surges and power failures. The surface mount B61089QDR and B9110DF series thyristors for programmable tracking protection contain a fast switching skid structure that meets the basic level requirements of the ITU recommendations ITU K.20, K.21 and K.45.

The B61089QDR dual Port Battrax provides surge protection for SLIC cards that only perform negative voltage ringing. The B9110DF series provides surge protection for SLIC cards that perform positive and negative voltage ringing, which is used in most telecommunications applications today. It also tracks the reference Vcc of the SLIC chipset, and when it enters the low static phase, the protection threshold will match this lower threshold.

Applications of the B61089QDR and B9110DF series include protection against:

• Wireless Local Loop (WLL) systems

• Voice applications that require regenerated POTS(plain old telephone service) signals

• VoIP applications

• Private Branch Exchange (PBX) system

• External Switching Station (FXS) applications

• Digital Pair Augmentation System (DPG)

• Digital loop carrier (DLC) system

• Small Home Office (SOHO) systems

The B61089QDR and B9110DF series SIDACtor protected thyristors offer the following key benefits:

• High-performance protection for SLIC using + VBAT and -VBAT benchmarks (B9110DF series) and -VBAT benchmarks (B61089QDR series) as well as changing VBAT benchmarks.

• Extended equipment life by preventing degradation of component performance after multiple surge events within the rated range.
