Murata redefines miniaturization with the smallest 006003-inch MLCC

     Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has expanded its innovative range of mlcc with another groundbreaking addition. The company developed the world's first 006003 "size (0.16mm x 0.08mm) MLCC, demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to minimization. This achievement represents a reduction in volume ratio of approximately 75% over the smallest existing product 008004 "size (0.25m x 0.125mm).

     In recent years, as electronic devices have become more complex and compact, the number of electronic components installed has increased while reducing the space required for installation. As electronic devices continue to advance in terms of intelligence, the mlcc contained in all electronic devices has increased accordingly, with the latest smartphones using up to 1,000 units. In this context, there is a growing demand for ultra-compact products that can fit high-density components into a limited installation space.

     Since its founding in 1944, the company has been dedicated to exploring and advancing ceramic capacitors, cultivating an unparalleled understanding of raw materials, manufacturing processes and production technologies. In 2014, the company successfully launched the world's first 008004-inch (0.25mm × 0.125mm) multi-layer ceramic capacitor, which is increasingly used in smartphone modules and wearable devices. The creation of this MLCC is the result of years of focused research and development on basic technology, resulting in a device measuring just 0.16mm x 0.08mm x 0.08mm (L/W/T).
