OmniOn Power™ introduces the Osprey family of non-isolated bus converters for AI server applications

     To meet the growing power requirements of applications such as artificial intelligence (AI), Large Language models (llm) and machine learning (ML), OmniOn power™ has introduced a new line of high-power, non-isolated DC/DC bus converters, the Osprey family. The product line includes 2kW (kW) QODE167A0B, 1.6 kW QODE136A0B and 1.3 kW QODE108A0B modules, of which the 2kW variant is currently one of the most powerful bus converters in the dosa standard, with a quarter brick footprint.

     Globally, data centers consume 1 to 2 percent of total electricity, and with rapid advances in AI technology, that share is expected to climb to 3 to 4 percent by the end of the decade. According to Goldman Sachs Research, data center power demand is expected to surge 160% by 2030, with regions such as Taiwan leading the market's rapid expansion.

     Osprey bus converters deliver peak efficiency of up to 97.6% and support input voltage ranges of 40-60VDC, effectively converting volatile 48V DC rack voltage into the stable 12VDC output power required for high-performance Gpus while minimizing energy loss. These converters utilize digital control, synchronous rectification, adjustable control topology and advanced packaging technology to maximize efficiency while ensuring low output ripple and noise.

     The module is versatile, operates over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, and has an integrated hot plate that can be attached to an external radiator or in direct contact with the cold wall for effective thermal management. The Osprey converter also integrates the PMBus interface for intelligent power management and includes a comprehensive set of built-in protections such as output overcurrent and overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, and input undervoltage and overvoltage locking.
