R&S is the first company to release 5G new air port downlink analysis firmware. The firmware option is used in R&SFSW signal and spectrum analyzers to verify base station signals and 5G power amplifiers. As the first user to use the software, R&S can now provide firmware options to support customers' 5G products to market prior to their official release upon request.

As the first user to use the software, R&S can now provide firmware options to support customers' 5G products to market prior to their official release upon request.

     This is the first firmware option on the R&SFSW Signal and Spectrum analyzer specifically for 5G new air ports. It supports different subcarrier intervals and subcarrier bandwidths, sub-6 GHZ bands and millimeter wave bands. Now developers can verify 5G base stations against the 3GPP standard, and the common signal analysis on the market cannot do this. This dedicated solution provides a powerful user interface and can accelerate 5G testing. The new 5G firmware option supports all bandwidths, and even signals at different subcarrier intervals can be demodulated easily.

     The 5G new air port option further establishes R&S 'leading position in wireless communications and demonstrates the company's ability to support 5G test and measurement. In June 2017, the company introduced the R&SFSW-B2001 new option at R&SFSW, extending the high-end signal and R&SFSW spectrum analyzer to 2GHz bandwidth. The solution allows developers to directly observe wideband signals without the need for external data acquisition meters. The R&S SMW200A vector signal source and R&SFSW Signal and Spectrum analyzer demonstrate superior test and measurement capabilities in the Verizon5G public test standard.
