STMicroelectronics STM32 The smallest microcontroller in the F4 series

     STMicroelectronics announced that the basic STM32F410 microcontroller of its STM32F4 series has been put into mass production with a new development board, NUCLEO-F410RB, to achieve a high-performance STM32F4 series entry-level product with smaller size, lower power consumption and lower cost.

     The STM32F410 is powered by the ARM® Cortex-M4F processor core, which can reach 125 DMIPS at 100MHz and has achieved an excellent score of 339 points in the EEMBC CoreMark test. The power-conscious STM32 Dynamic Efficiency features, such as ST's ART Accelerator and voltage regulation, reduce dynamic Power consumption to 89µA/MHz. With a STOP current of only 6µA, many applications can benefit from its superior performance, such as wearable technology, Internet of Things (IoT) products, sensor hubs, building automation, personal medical devices, and smartphones.

     The NucleO-F410RB extends support for the affordable STM32 Nucleo development board to the STM32F410. On-board Arduino Uno interface and ST morpho interface support function, users can simplify development board expansion by plugging stackable modules, Examples include motion sensing, Near-Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth or IEEE 802.15.4 RF boards. The STM32CubeF4 suite includes a Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), middleware and application examples, as well as the latest STM32CubeMX code generator to complete the ecosystem.

     Designed in a miniature package, the STM32F410 microcontroller has a built-in 64KB-128KB flash memory and 32KB static memory (SRAM), providing a wide range of peripheral features and up to six timers, including motor control timers and 32-bit /100MHz timers. Communication ports include SPI, I2C, I2S, USART and ISO 7816 interfaces, as well as a 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), which is an additional feature than other STM32F41x microcontrollers. The STM32F410 comes in either a UFQFPN48 or LQFP64 package or a 2.55mm x 2.58mm 36 bump (bump)WLCSP package, making it the smallest STM32F4 microcontroller available on the market.

     Designers with power or budget constraints can take advantage of the STM32F410's Batch Acquisition Mode (BAM) support, and ST's dynamic energy efficiency technology innovation, which allows sensor data to be directly transferred to SRAM memory while the CPU and flash memory remain switched off. A power management mode that enables developers to use microcontrollers efficiently. The STM32F410 also introduces a new RUN mode that puts the flash memory into power-off saving mode to save power. 64KB flash memory and 32KB SRAM memory are packaged in WLCSP36; 128KB flash memory and 32KB SRAM memory are packaged in LQFP64.
