STMicroelectronics and Quantenna join forces to present a highly compact 4K Wi-Fi client reference design

     Spanning multiple electronics applications, STMicroelectronics, the world's leading semiconductor supplier, and Quantenna Communications, Inc., the world's largest provider of ultra-high performance Wi-Fi solutions Announced that the reference design for both parties to play high-quality 4K video over a home Wi-Fi network on a highly compact fanless set-top box is now available for sale. The reference design has excellent indoor network coverage, higher portability and multi-machine sharing.

     The new reference design set-top box incorporates ST's market-proven, high-performance Cannes 4K ARM® quad-core system chip. This new product, now on the market, not only integrates advanced middleware, but also has a robust development ecosystem, allowing customers to quickly develop short development cycle and high-profile solutions.

     The cost and system of the STMicroelectronics 4K system chip have been optimized and improved. After integration with Quantenna QSR1000, the 4x4 MIMO architecture supports DynaMMO(Dynamic Multi-purpose MIMO) technology, dynamic digital wave forming beam and four spatial streams. Delivers outstanding performance, range, reliability and coverage. The standardized ST Quantenna reference design is compatible with all third-party 802.11ac and 802.11n products.
