Secure authentication ics help reduce development time and minimize design costs

     Secure key supply is essential to protect sensitive keys from third-party tampering and malicious attacks. Secure key storage is critical to ensure the security of consumer, industrial, data center, and medical applications, but developing and documenting secure key supplies can be complex and costly. To lower the barrier to entry into secure key configuration and enable faster prototyping, Microchip Technology has added ECC204, SHA104 and SHA105 cryptographic authentication ics to its TrustFLEX portfolio of devices, services and tools.

     These integrated circuits are hardware-based secure storage devices designed to protect keys from unauthorized attacks. As part of the TrustFLEX platform, ECC204, SHA104 and SHA105 ics are pre-configured with defined use cases, customizable encryption keys and code examples to simplify the development process.

     "Adding ECC20x and SHA10x pre-configured devices to our TrustFLEX platform will help leverage Microchip's security provisioning services for a broader range of applications," said Nuri Dagdeviren, group vice president of Microchip's Secure Computing Group.      The device meets Common Criteria JIL high level security key storage requirements and is certified by NIST Entropy Source Verification (ESV) and Encryption Algorithm Verification Program (CAVP) to comply with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS). The Secure IC family was developed to enable trusted authentication to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of data and communications in a variety of systems and applications.
