The Dukosi Battery System Optimization Unit monitoring chipset is now in mass production
Dukosi Ltd. announced the production of the Dukosi Battery Monitoring System (DKCMS) for safety-critical next-generation battery systems. The DKCMS core hardware has been fully qualified to the AEC-Q100 standard, meeting the stringent standards and life expectancy of electric vehicles (EVs) and stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Dukosi's unique battery-on-chip technology and exclusive C-SynQ® communication protocol have revolutionized battery engineering and monitoring. In addition to life traceability, DKCMS's battery monitoring and non-volatile embedded memory ensure customers' products comply with upcoming laws such as the EU Battery Passport. A revolutionary contactless approach developed by Dukosi goes beyond the limitations of traditional wired and far-field wireless systems, freeing up physical design constraints and improving security, design freedom and scalability.
The DKCMS core integrates the DK8102-AQ-25 battery monitoring chip, DK8202-AR-25 system hub chip, Dukosi API, and C-SynQ® to provide a unique contactless battery monitoring solution. Integrated into each battery, the cell monitor provides precise monitoring of basic operating parameters, including voltage and temperature, as well as basic battery balancing capabilities and diagnostics.
The system center utilizes Dukosi's exclusive C-SynQ technology to facilitate two-way data flow between all Cell monitors and BMS hosts via a single bus antenna. C-SynQ provides a very secure and very resilient message with consistent latency and synchronization of all Cell Monitor metrics for optimal packet performance.
Dukosi asserts that this chip cell sensing platform effectively addresses an unmet market need and is therefore superior to competitors in the same category. The approach integrates software, onboard processing, and memory to provide detailed information about each cell. In addition, the technology facilitates precise, wireless and synchronous communication between the battery and the main battery management system, enabling enterprises to continuously monitor the current condition, functional status and efficiency of each battery in real time.
The market for Ducos' solutions is huge and expanding rapidly. According to published sales forecasts for electric vehicles (EVs) and battery energy storage systems (BESS), with a Dukosi battery monitor for every cell in a conventional battery, the potential number of integrated circuits (ics) will reach 2 billion by 2025, and this number is expected to grow at an annual rate of 14.8% over the next 10 years.
