The first 16-bit touch MCU to support LCD and LED direct drive on a single chip
Renesas Electronics announced the introduction of five new products: R7F0C205L, R7F0C206L, R7F0C206M, R7F0C207M and R7F0C208M, expanding its 16-bit microcontroller (MCU) product line. Further strengthen the development support for touch home appliances, smart buildings, industrial automation and portable equipment applications. Embedded developers can take advantage of the new products to integrate both user interface (including capacitive touch keys, leds and LCDS) and system control functions on a single chip.
The new MCU inherits the industry-leading low power consumption and excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the RL78 series. Developers of capacitive touch applications can take advantage of Renesas' state-of-the-art second generation capacitive touch technology at ultra-low power consumption and very low cost. In addition, embedded LCD and LED direct drive capabilities support diverse product designs and standardize the developer MCU platform across the product line.
The MCU also integrates high-current ports for driving leds and LCDS to optimize capacitive touch key applications with LED and LCD displays. The new MCU is Renesas' first 16-bit touch MCU to support LCD and LED direct drive on a single chip. The new product will be delivered in a solution that includes an MCU, Workbench and Graphical user interface (GUI) tool (HMI code generator), and the associated evaluation boards and evaluation kits will be available separately.
