The first power switcher to fully support USB Type-C power transfer and fast use switching

     Diodes' DPS1133 single-channel power switcher is the world's first high-voltage power switcher designed to meet all of the demanding protection and fast use switching requirements of USB Type-C™ ports. This product is suitable for a wide range of mobile and desktop computing devices and peripheral devices, as well as consumer electronics, mobile communications, industrial and medical market applications, such as smart phones, AR/VR glasses, robotics, automotive infotainment and home appliances.

     The DPS1133 is specifically designed to protect the line between the VBUS and the USB Type-C connector, complies with the Fast Use Switching (FRS) timing conditions defined in the latest version of the USB Power Transfer Specification 3.0V1.1, and supports all permitted USB-C port modes of operation: Downlink use (DFP), Uplink use (UFP), and dual use (DRP). Designed to operate at voltages between 4.5V and 24V, the DPS1133 can supply or use power up to 3.5A via a USB Type-C connector with automatic protection and failback from overvoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, reverse voltage and overheat without the intervention of a system controller.

     The DPS1133 power switchers have a low on-state resistance (typical ≤30mΩ) and a maximum continuous current of 3.5A to help minimize power consumption, and the thermal efficient QFN4040-17 package also ensures that the surface is kept cold during operation. This product can use external resistors to adjust a number of device parameters, such as voltage and current limits and ramp time, for increased applicability. The control pins also allow the input and output ports to discharge through internal resistors.
