Toshiba introduces a CXPI responsive interface IC with built-in hardware logic

Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH will begin sampling the TB9033FTG, a CXPI responder interface IC with built-in hardware logic. The hardware logic can control the data communication using the CXPI protocol and GPIO, eradicating the necessity for dedicated software development and thereby shortening development times.

     Toshiba Electronics Europe Ltd. will begin sampling the TB9033FTG, a CXPI responsive interface IC with built-in hardware logic. Hardware logic can control data communication using the CXPI protocol and GPIO, eliminating the need for dedicated software development and thus reducing development time.

     The new product allows for the multiplexing of automotive communications and reduces the number of wire harnesses used in body control system applications, helping to reduce vehicle weight. The high-speed response of the CXPI responder interface device compared to the LIN protocol makes it suitable for applications such as steering wheel switches, instrument switches, light switches, door locks and rearview mirrors.

     The device has 16 GPIO pins, six of which can be switched to a 10bit AD converter input circuit and four of which can be switched to four 8bit PWM output circuits. The device is also equipped with an input monitoring function in sleep mode, a switch matrix (up to 4x4) input function, and an output function when communication is interrupted.

     The device's standby current consumption is only 10µA, which indicates that it consumes the least power in sleep mode. Low and high EMI means less noise is generated, making system design easier. In addition, the high ESD characteristics of the device make it highly antistatic.

     The TB9033FTG includes over temperature, over voltage, low voltage fault detection circuit. In addition, the device can predict failure conditions and automatically send alerts to command nodes, improving fault detection performance. The operating temperature range of the equipment is -40℃~ 125℃, which conforms to the AEC-Q100 standard.
