U-blox announces miniature GNSS receivers designed for asset tracking applications

     U-blox, a global leader in wireless and positioning modules and chips, announced the introduction of the EVA-M8Q GNSS receiver, completing its portfolio of micro and low-cost EVA receivers in 7x7mm packages. Based on TCXO and optimized for optimal location capture and tracking sensitivity, the EVA-M8Q is ideal for covert tracking applications with small antennas, such as asset tracking, stolen vehicle recovery, or portable devices.

     Stephane Vincent, Director of Positioned Product Strategy at u-blox, said: "The main differentiating feature of EVA-M8Q compared to other low-cost EVA products is its excellent sensitivity. This, combined with the accuracy of receiving the three GNSS galaxies simultaneously, makes it easy to hide the terminal system and antenna in a car or other high-value asset that needs to be tracked."

     The use of QFN-like package sizes simplifies the manufacturing process and therefore can meet the needs of medium to high volume production. The highly integrated EVA-M8 series modules help Oems shorten time-to-market. The EVA-M8 series supports the smallest GNSS module for GPS, Beidou, Galileo and GLONASS signal reception. It can receive three of these four GNSS galaxies simultaneously, thus achieving the highest positioning accuracy. The modules are also equipped with anti-spoofing and anti-interference technology to provide excellent security and complete protection.
