Vishay's new galvanometer resistors save space and improve accuracy and efficiency

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the release of its new surface mount Power Metal Strip galvanometer resistor, the WSLF2512. The resistor has a high power of 6W, a TCR as low as ±70ppm/ ° C, an extremely low resistance value of 0.0003Ω, and a 2512 form factor.

     The Vishay Dale WSLF2512 has a power density of 192W/ sq. inch, allowing designers to use the smallest possible resistance in high-power circuits to save space. The device's low TCR enables stable and accurate current measurement over a wide temperature range, and the low resistance minimizes power losses and improves the efficiency of the final product.

     The WSLF2512 uses a low TCR(< 20ppm/℃) of solid Metal nickel chromium, manganese copper or manganese copper tin alloy resistance core of advanced construction, so that can achieve higher Power in a smaller size, and maintain the excellent electrical characteristics of the Power Metal Strip structure. Vishay's unique machining technology enables the device to have resistance values ranging from 0.0003Ω to 0.003Ω with tolerances of ±1.0% and ±5.0%.
