Wireline to board card side connectors are equipped with two solderless contact technologies

     Kyocera AVX has released the new 916.9-000 series of single-chip wire-to-board edge connectors. The new 916.9-000 series connectors feature robust beryllium copper compression contacts and insulated displacement contacts, making it easy to establish reliable high-signal integrity connections in a variety of harsh environmental lighting, industrial, and consumer electronics applications

     The new series of wire-to-board card side connectors combines two field-proven, solderless contact technologies to directly establish high-integrity connections and support applications in harsh environments such as automotive, transportation, solid-state lighting, and automotive. Excellent electrical and mechanical performance in industrial and consumer electronics applications: idc for reliable cold welding, airtight wire-to-connector terminals and BeCu compression contacts for high-reliability wire-to-board terminals. These new connectors also have positioning fins for polarization that prevent PCB insertion errors, and board locking latches on both sides enhance their mechanical holding strength.

     The new series offers 2-10 2.5mm pitch contacts, gold-plated or pure tin in the head area, designed to terminate 22-28AWG solid or stranded wires and 1.6mm thick PCBS with gold plated or tinned liners. It also offers glass-filled UL94 V-0 polyamide 66 (PA66) insulators, which come in eight different colors: white, black, orange, green, red, yellow, blue, and brown. In terms of performance, it is rated for 100VACRMS or DC equivalent, variants with 2-6 contacts up to 3A(US UL), variants with 7-10 contacts up to 2A, operating temperatures from -40 ° C to +130 ° C for 10 cycles, it is also UL approved.
